From My Heart to Yours
   

Wow! What a month February was.  The transition process that we have been pursuing for several months passed a very significant milestone the last Sunday of February.  The congregation unanimously approved the Leadership Team's recommendation to extend a call to Michael (Jackie) Hill to become the Lead Pastor upon my retirement at the end of June.  From my perspective I believe we now have the leader who will shepherd us into the future.

 

I write these words from the island of Moloka'i where Belle and I have come to fill in for Pastor Mike Inouye (Kaunakakai Baptist Church) who has returned to the mainland with his wife, Cathy, to minister to her daughter, Stacey, and family.  Stacey is undergoing chemotherapy to battle cancer.  Mike and Cathy are looking after Stacey's eight home-schooled children while her husband, Walt, ministers to her.  Belle and I will be in Moloka'i for March and April giving Jackie a chance to get his feet wet!  We plan to return in May and then we will take the next two months to complete the transition process, move into our new digs, and pass the baton at the formal installation service on July 1st. 

 

I love it when a plan comes together, especially when it is our Father's!
